  • reading a book too long
  • worrying about kale eating enough
  • worrying about kale growing enough
  • worrying about kale doing the things he should be doing for his age
  • trying to figure out the tv show "lost"
  • drafting blog posts in my head
  • worrying about finances
  • thinking about the book i just read
  • wondering about the bigger picture and where i fit in it
  • and of course.....

meme

This is called a meme and apparently you just fill it out and learn stuff about the person who does it!

Favorite food? Hmm, I love lots of food but pizza is good all the time. I also enjoy pickles, chips, and chocolate cake, but not all at the same time.

Quirks about me? Here goes...I don't wear socks unless I wear tennis shoes and that is not very often. I hate hot feet! I run my feet under cold water every night in the summer and put a rice bag that has been in the freezer on my feet when I sleep. I would rather watch what I eat instead of exercise. If I can't do something perfectly the first time, usually I won't do it at all. Laundry can sit in my dryer for days. If you looked in my fridge you would think we starved around here, mostly condiments. Also, I am very sarcastic, so much so that people don't know I am joking.

How would the person who loves you most describe you in ten words or less? (Ask them.) Godly, soft, sweet, motherly, goofy, sparky, energized, sexy, comforter.

Any regrets in life? Oh sure but I suppose most of those make me who I am so I won't go into all of them. However, one big regret is finding out we were having a boy when I was pregnant. I really wish we would have waited and they would have announced it was a boy in the delivery room. Only because I know that would have been the best moment of Peter's life.

Favorite Charity/Cause? Favorite one we donate to? Well, that would be our church I guess! However, I really have a heart for orphaned children and unloved children so any charity that helps those...maybe I should look into something in that area...

Favorite Blog recently? Anyone who updates!!!

Something you can't get enough of? Pickles and my husband, in no particular order

Worst job you've ever had? I have had pretty great jobs in my life but I suppose the one I disliked the most was being a secretary for different businesses. It was really boring because the phone didn't ring a lot but I played a lot of solitaire

What job would you pay NOT to have? Anything to do with sewers.

If you could be a fly on the wall, where? Any of my friends' houses when it is just them and their spouse. I am nosy

Guilty pleasure? Watching tv during the day when I should be working. Add some potato chips...mmmmmmmm

Got any confessions? Don't tell Peter but I left a candle burning on the counter when I went to the store today.

If you HAD to spend $1,000 on YOURSELF, how would you spend it? Clothes and someone to organize my house.

Favorite thing about your house? I actually like that it is small and everything is right there. I don't have to take laundry up or down stairs.

Least favorite thing about your house? I don't have to take laundry up or down stairs but we live on the third floor so stairs are part of our daily life. I also don't like that we don't have a yard and that there is a motorcycle gang in our parking lot. (Not really a gang but motorcycles that are loud)

One thing you are bad at? One thing? Putting my husband before me.

One thing you're good at? Making desserts

If you could change something about your circumstances, what? No debt and Peter not having shingles.

Who would you like to meet someday? Anyone who walked with Jesus

What makes you feel sexy? When my husband kisses me in the kitchen

Who is your real life hero? Michele Oakland and Adele Morstad.

What is the hardest part of your job? Being a mom-not being too strict with my expectations. Web Marketing-getting new ideas.

When are you most relaxed? In the bathtub, drinking a glass of wine, reading a book.

What stresses you out? MONEY!

What can you not live without? Chapstick. I hate dry lips

Why do you blog? So I can brag about Kale!

So, I am apparently supposed to tag some people according to how I know them and such. I am just going to tag Reese, Emily, Addie, Deea (when she gets Internet again), Kiersten, and Kelsey.

my future's so bright...

...i gotta wear shades
dad likes to put these on me and laugh at me while i play
playing with blake
after 5 minutes of wearing them (we timed him) he decided he would rather play with the glasses
now i want the camera!
we went up to hingham this weekend to watch my sister vanessa graduate from high school. lots of fun was had but kale ended up getting a little cold the first day we were there. despite having a cold, missing naps, and late nights, he was a trooper. the trip home yesterday was a little long for all of us and kale decided he was too tired to sleep in the car. finally, right before we took the exit to bozeman, he passed out. figures. peter helped our friends brand a little bit on friday after we arrived in hingham. actually, what i heard was he took pictures and drank beer. i'll let him tell you about it later.
robin, kale, monkey, and vanessa. robin and vanessa graduated and we had a party to celebrate with robin's family.
siblings
even though this picture is bad of all of us, it is the best one we have!

weekend wrap up

my husband spoils me every day and mother's day was no different. he helped me clean on saturday and spent ALL day doing paint touch ups and little jobs around the house. really, the best present ever. kind of funny too, since last mother's day we were painting around here too! we spent today relaxing and pretty much doing nothing. just the way i like it since the weather was windy and rainy. enjoy the pics! we went over to our friends house for dinner on mother's day and had an amazing feast. this is one of their daughters, mina, (short for willemina). she was pretty interested in kale.
kale loved all the girl attention.
any resemblance?
our friend lindsey came into town for some work and let us come to her hotel to swim. all our little guys were perfect "swimmers" naomi, kale, smith, lindsey, reese, mason
all the boys after the swim, playing on the hotel bed.
kale's favorite new position to sleep in. he has been sleeping better now, taking longer naps and sometimes sleeping until 9 in the morning! no complaints here!

crazy 8

it has been so much fun getting to know our little boy. sometimes i am blown away by how big he is getting and how old he is. swinging at the park, sitting in the shopping cart, going to nursery at church. then i look at him lying on the floor or while i am nursing him and he is just so little! i love it! it makes me wish he was more of a snuggler because i constantly want to snuggle him! however, that is my only complaint these days! he is eating well, sleeping great and is just a happy happy boy. i kind of went crazy posting lots of pictures but i don't think the grammies will mind! still no teeth but he loves to chomp on his fingers, sometimes gagging himself and spitting up all over us.
he's getting a little pudge but when i pick him up it seems there is nothing to him!
just a funny face
mom's feet don't taste so good this time
still not a big fan of tummy time. he'll do it for awhile but then starts to cry and high centers himself on his tummy. he has forgotten that he can roll over and i tried to help him crawl yesterday but he just cried then. he can spin in a circle on his tummy but that's it. this is my only worry right now, that he hasn't moved much. i know every kid is different but if i wasn't worried about something, you would all think i was drinking too much.
this is the look he has on his face whenever he sees someone eating. he just stares at them with his mouth open, hoping a small morsel will find its way to his mouth!
still loves the fingers
watching dad having a snack across the room he loves to stick his tongue out and we have discovered that he has his mama's tongue, long and skinny
he gets excited and bangs his arms and rocks and grins. especially when he sees his dad.
