not today

here is what kale thinks...

sunshine!

finally it is nice out! even though it snowed at least six inches this week, today it is beautiful out! we went for a little jaunt and tried out the backpack oma becky got us.

everything is going good here. kale was sick last week, yet mom and dad still found amusement in the many "snot bubbles" produced by his constant runny nose. we were back to getting up in the night but kicked that in the butt the last couple nights. a little re-training was needed but nothing we couldn't handle. (by we, i mean me and kale since peter sleeps through anything) ready for the trail!
kale seemed to like it. no "melt-down" = total success

my mom brought a walker down for kale and he has figured out how to scoot around. the garbage is the most interesting thing for kale and he has not been pleased by his little swats on the hand. (too early for this?) uncle jonny left to colorado last week and we miss him lots and lots...:(

i went out with the girls on saturday night and reese bought a couple corn cob pipes. we are smoking tobacco, contrary to the look on reese's face.
kale looks so funny when we stand him up because his head is so big. he looks like a carrot.

he played for about 5 minutes with these shades on and even then, peter took them off him.
the hose from our dryer came undone from the wall so peter got to crawl up and fix it.
he could play with this bucket and blocks all day.

uncle john came down from alaska to visit us and explore msu. he is probably coming down here for college next year. he is very excited about it.

kale is 7 months old and we're pretty sure he's working on some teeth. as you can see from the above picture, he wants to chew on everything. he sits up by himself pretty well but has taken some face plants in the process. we continue to learn that kale is an observer as he spends most of his time in a new place taking it all in. kind of like his mom and grandpa ray.
