reese, becca, and i went to billings last weekend with our kiddos. we went last year too and it is amazing how much our kids have changed. more vocal, less napping, and definitely more mobile. we lined all the boys up on the couch for a picture. from left to right, jack, smith, mason, noah (reese's cousin's son), kale, and maddox (reese's sister's little boy).

they all played well together....mostly.

breakfast the first day

kale and jack are great buddies and by the end of the trip, jack was walking around calling kale's name.

livin' life and lovin' it

Life is good, but God is better. It's easy to get wrapped up in today's economy, and fear the worst - especially when the "media" is telling us that disaster is inevitable. Our God though is a God that is not surprised by the plummets on Wall Street or the Housing Market, our God seems; however, to be in the business of showing us his unrelenting faithfulness and his righteous work. God has recently brought new life into this world (my niece Elena) and he's taken life away (Denny G. - a gentleman from our church body). It is without a doubt though that God is actively at work in both situations. Praise be to God! Elena has two amazing parents and a little brother who absolutely love her dearly; a relationship that millions of homeless children around the world only dream of. Denny G is reunited with his wife in Heaven (Kathy passed away almost a year ago to cancer). Praise God for His plan to restore Denny's heart, and the "party" I'm sure Denny, Kathy and Jesus are having right now.
We live in Bozeman. A once small town that seems to now always be on the move with new construction and active college students. It's easy to get caught up in life here on Earth. I was reminded this Sunday at church of God's faithfulness through his Word in 1 Samuel 7:12. Samuel was protected by God when attacked by the Philistines. Samuel was thankful for God's mighty and "thunderous" provision so he raised up a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer saying, "Thus far has the Lord helped us."
God is good. He's a God that hasn't changed from the Old Testament to the New. He's amazing and wonderful. I see that most often with my son Kalen. He's a daily Ebenezer that reminds me that God has blessed me thus far. We're living life here in Bozeman, but it's because of God that we're loving it.

Some enjoyed this "jail time" more than others.

Kale loves to sit in his little green chair.

I once was put in the Garage because of the way I ate. Both my parents agreed that if I was going to eat like a dog, I might as well go be with the dog. Yeah, that only happened once. Every time though I see my son stick his entire fist in his mouth to eat, a little pride wells up. Hey, we don't have a dog...and our garage is detached from the house. Stuff away son..stuff away.
