Quarantine

Kale came down with RSV on Wednesday this week and was hospitalized on Thursday because he needed oxygen. A person's oxygen level should be 100 and when his was tested, it was 77. We were admitted Thursday afternoon and he spent the night on oxygen. Praise God! He was taken off oxygen on Friday morning and his level stayed above 90. We got to go home. We spent less than 24 hours in the hospital but I was done! How do people do this with kids who are sicker than Kale? I was a mess and if they hadn't let us go home Friday, I was thinking of busting out. I am so thankful to God for answering our prayers. Our little boy is now back to normal. A small cough still but otherwise he is back to being happy and full of energy. If only he could take care of his sick mom and dad! Putting the oxygen on was not a fun process. He finally got used to it and the stickers on his cheeks help keep it from falling off.
Such a brave boy.

This machine monitored his oxygen. A little thing wrapped around his toe and read his oxygen and heart rate. The top number is his oxygen level (out of 100) and the bottom is his heart rate. As you can see, the assisted oxygen was definitely doing its job.

This is our "medicine center" at home now. Everything I can take while pregnant plus Kale's inhaler and Peter's Zicam and other various instruments.

We are so thankful to be out of the hospital! Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement!

I'm so glad he's better - no worries on the non-texting. I still love you, and you were a little preoccupied with things. :) Hope you and Pete get on the road to recovery soon too!

So sorry he's sick! But glad it's on the mend. And...I don't see any of the good stuff I told you to get in that big pile of medicine ;-) I'm sure it must just be under all the other chemicals. :)

Poor little bugger! Braylee just got done being sick for the very first time...she ended up with croup and then eric and I both just finished antibiotics for sinus infections!! I am so glad that Kale is home safe and that hopefully everyone is on the mend...that RSV stuff is NASTY! Thinking of you...

That last photo is heartbreaking. Its so hard as a parent to watch your little ones go through sickness. We've been praying. I'll continue for you and Peter. Hugs - & I know we are busy, but call if you need ANYTHING - K?!! We're never too busy for friends.
